However, there are also some commonalities among people, although those commonalities may exist in varying degrees of acuity. While I know that everyone is susceptible to social pressures, I also find that I am less susceptible to them than some of my peers. While I had always been far left of center, before college I did not understand the intricacies that have since shaped my political views. I remember the specific quarter when I started to really understand the implications of capitalism and neoliberalism and how they have systematically oppressed so many people.
